Well... that was positively vile, wasn't it? Even before things started changing. Is that what centuries of repression and religious self-righteousness gets the human race? Bland, bleak, overbound, so devoid of any negative influence that we've all but lost any semblance of flavor?

I'm pretty sure the real 1950s weren't like that. I know they weren't. Books had words...oh, you didn't go to the library, did you? I wonder if it went back to the way it was before when we left...

En entrepreneur who apparently had little else to do but preen about his own house. A Chamber of Commerce member as well. That should have involved more than it did. All that was discussed was how pleasant everything was. And then men wearing clean shirts and haughty grins could not at one another as though they'd accomplished something.
