And of course a perfectly good walk is ruined by hard rain. Sometimes, the CES is just a little too real for my liking. The garden is coming along nicely, however. A bit balmy in there for my tastes, but there you have it.

How are you feeling, cherub?

I believe a full discussion is in order, if everyone is able.

It is a small village on a hill, with my chateau crowning it. There are orchards and wild fields surrounding. In the late spring, down in the town proper, there were weeks when it seemed to rain petals. The landscape becomes so young and alive after such a long winter that you would think you had never seen the color green before.

That sounds like a wonderful place to be. It seems that you were able to receive extraordinary blessings. Why did you ever leave?

Summerisle, where I lived, is an island off the coast of Scotland. Covered in fruit trees, mostly apples, it is a rare sight. At this time of year, the orchards are bursting with colorful blossoms, which simply completes the feeling of springtime.

Because while the quiet moods of the countryside soothed me in my youth, I sought out the cities for greater sport and adventurous company -- the likes of which are often in short supply in the smaller provinces.

Oh, I would say that depends on what kind of adventure you want.

Where I come from, the further from the city center, the fewer people I will find with similar tastes. It's a tragedy.

Similar tastes, Marquis?

I have never lived anywhere other than my island home. And, while I can say that the people there are not as, oh, engaging as I might have otherwise liked, they are certainly preferable to the types I find in the city.
