I for one found the flood to be informative, if a bit disorienting. Tis a wonder what emotions you can teach yourself to discern from facial twitches when you have a guide, certainly, and I can only imagine how this shall inform my writing from now on.

I am also aware that we have recently passed the day of our "Lord"'s resurrection, and while I am not one for marking such days unless there are festivities involving copious amounts of wine, seeing it come to pass on such a quiet note did make me quite sorely miss some of our former denizens.

Sergeant Howie, wherever you are, I pray that you see me in the glimmer of every skeptic's eye and blush.

Monsieur Riddick, as always, you are free to join me in the CES this morning if you are feeling so inclined.

[His clothes are fresh, but there's scent traces of Wanda's dog, Fozzie, still on his skin, from their wrestle on the deck. He crouches to about her height and drops a hand lightly to the deck, promising her that he's up for a race.

Then he stands, looking to the Marquis.]

Know where we're going today?

[As Renate circles him excitedly]

I imagine it will be similar to the last location; the Enclosure rarely changes more frequently than by a few days.

[A smile tugs the corners of his lips about a centimeter up-- he'll wait until he's inside the CES to try to catch Renate.]

Didn't mind the last place.

[Then again there aren't many natural locations he does mind. Fewer people. Easier to operate on instinct, without the doubts and complications that come along with socialization.]

Then we're in for a happier morning all around. [He brings them to the upper level and opens the door to the CES by holding his ring to the lock.] In we go, then.

[Renate, sensing how their game has been structured, is the first to zoom past.]

[Riddick gives the Marquis a little head-dip, a jab at social niceties, and waves an arm after the dog with all the mocking politeness.]

If you don't mind?

[He has a way of looking like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth. But blood might.]

Feel free. [He waves him in.]

[Riddick takes off after Renate, a dead sprint.]

[Renate likes to run and be chased, and she makes a game of it, darting between trees and through brush. The Marquis sticks to a single trail and rather than waste the opportunity walks along for his own daily exercise.]

[Renate has Riddick on flat speed, but in guile and maneuverability he's got an edge-- when he finally catches her with a sharp turn, bouncing off a tree, he rolls her over, scratches his fingers through her ruff fiercely, and then takes off in the opposite direction.

It'll be a while before either of them wears down and returns to the path.]

[The Marquis can hear their play in the distance, Renate's excited barks, and he's not at all certain at times what to make of it, though he's accepting that this is part of Riddick's unusual nature. There is no harm in it, especially since it seems to put his Inmate at ease. Even as Riddick returns to the path, Renate continues to alternate between circling them and racing far ahead and back.]

She's quite fond of you, I think.

She likes showing off. [He sounds like he approves. She's a skilled, healthy animal.]
