I wish to thank everyone for their thoughtful, or at least universally appealing, gifts. I think that perhaps, if I find my Inmate graduated by next year, I may return to Paris for the holiday, however.
I would not mark myself a religious man, but the old traditions can be enjoyable at times even for those that need them only as reason to be close to the people they care for.
Or at least have fun, if they have few of those.
[Well, that was a lot less nice than he was planning.]
Monsieur de Lioncourt, it is time we had that proper meeting. You will find my quarters on level three, room four.
[Private to Riddick]
How are you settling?

You realize there are nearly a hundred people here and roughly only ten, possibly fewer, have caused major incidents in the last six months?
Private
It's just like old times. Lotta new faces, though.

I'm pleased to see you are at least recovering. [He's half tempted to suggest he doesn't look to be sleeping well. So he should come back to his cabin. But he resists.] Slowly but surely.
Private
You got paired up without me? Hurt. [He isn't, although it does make him feel a little out of the loop.]

[But he looks actually kind of comforted by that.]

Still up for me shadowing you on your walks in the morning?

He arrives and tries the knob first before knocking, a little surprised when it opens without protest. That's enough of an invitation for him and he strolls on in, taking a moment to observe the quarters therein.]
My, my. It is like travelling back in time.
[Spam]
Do you always walk into people's homes without an invitation, or is this your attempt to be "defiant," pet?
[The Marquis does not look up from his writing.]

[A dog. Gross. She is given only a passing glance before he continues on with his leisurely exploration of the room.]

[Her barks translate to low growls and that's when the Marquis calls her off with a sharp word. She settles down by the fire.]
Vampire manners, I suppose.

So you are to bring me to redemption, then. Tell me, how do you intend to do this?

[He continues to write -- it might be notable that he's making changes to a written manuscript at present.]
I will simply point you in the right direction from time to time.

[He makes his way over to the Marquis's side and peers over his shoulder. What are you working on there, sir?]
no subject
[The most notable line that is perhaps glanced is 'I would not see that there were no locks on my door.'
The Marquis glances up at him.]

[He doesn't move away.]
