I... [He hesitates] I don't think I'd want to leave, either.

Going back to our worlds would mean going to places where all this doesn't exist, or to where people I know either never existed and never will, are already dead, or have yet to be born.

Right... It just... seems cruel.

But -- we may...choose to stay, may we not?

Yes. Morgan told me as much. [He smiles slightly] I probably would, given the option.

It would be a rather lonesome place without you in it, Major. [He shrugged a little self-importantly] And really what would this place do if someone such as myself were not around to keep it on its toes? Depend upon the wee Timelord whelp? [He lay back suddenly, staring up at the ceiling.] He still has yet to be dealt with, of course.

[West snickers, then lies back fully on the bed, looking over at the Marquis] Of course. And I'm sure you have something in mind.

See, that is the trouble. After that story and Romana's little tirade, I haven't come up with anything better. As for the others -- well, they come a little easier. I know he is behind the last story, though I doubt he wrote it. Charlie Prince and 'Ralphie' will pose no real trouble. The latter would be perfectly handled if I could find a way to come into possession of some Spanish Fly...

[He arches an eyebrow] I don't know where or how you could come across that, save during a Port. [A pause] Isn't that an aphrodisiac? What on Earth would you--

[He stops, then shakes his head and looks up at the ceiling] Nevermind. As for the Master, you just need to teach him some humility.

[He smirked at the first question and West's immediate desire to chane the subject.] Well-spotted, Henri, but only when used in very small doses. [And teaching the Master humility? Not something easily done, but he liked a challenge.] As for him, whatever I choose to do must be better than last time. I feel it is almost expected of me.

Ah. And in large doses?

[With regards to the Master now...] I should hope so. What you did last time didn't deter him from all this nonsense, after all.

In large doses? [slow smile] He'll never piss standing up again.

And I wouldn't want to deter him. I shouldn't like for this game to end too quickly.

[And now West sighs with some irritation] And then he'll only attack the people you care about. Isn't that how he operates?

This whole ordeal began because he attacked people I care about. The minute he does so again is when this ceases to be a game, and I show him what sort of damage I can do without quill and ink.

Or you could end the game and prevent that from happening in the first place. [He scoffs] Be the bigger man about it; he certainly won't be.

No one, least of all you, need lecture me about being the 'bigger man', sparrow. You have your own vendettas I know you are not thinking of abandoning anytime soon.

[He glares, although he realizes that's not a particularly threatening thing to do when lying on your back] Mine concern only myself and him. You know that yours won't remain that way.

Yes, because the fact that he comes to me and talks to me holds no bearing on the situation. You can't guarantee yours will stay the way it is, either. [He sits up and looks down at him, smirking.] How about an accord, then? I'm civil with the ageless idiot, and you are likewise with Jim.

[He frowns a little, almost petulantly] I am civil with him until he tries to trick me into pouring my heart out to him, then molests me.

Come now. [He leans down for a brief, brushing kiss.] Let's try. We'll make a game of it. If you can't go...a week without being rude to Jim -- then I want you. [smirk] In the library. During daylight hours. If you do -- well, then I suppose you could pick something.

... [he blushes a little, but nods. After all, it's an easy enough challenge] Very well. It's a deal.

[He's so cute when he blushes.] And if you win?

[He reaches up, brings a hand to the other man's hair idly] I'll think of something.
