To those of you who have expressed an interest, you will be pleased to know that I think I have finally selected a play. It was not one directly recommended, but at the behest of a few people I delved more into the writings of one particular writer and decided that I should like to try one. The play that I have selected, having liked the material and with an understanding that there will be mostly equal roles for male and female actors, is "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams.

Having read the play and stage directions and made notes, however, I realize that though the stage is of a decent size, along with actors and actresses, I am also going to need others: Set designers and builders will be required -- not to mention the materials for them to use. I will also need the aid of anyone who can sew clothing -- who will also likewise require access to such things.

Lighting, effects, musicians -- the latter is important. There are not many places in the play that music is outright required, but one or two people with some grasp of an instrument would be helpful.

I, of course, intend to direct.

(ooc: I feel like a right idiot for picking the play that I did -- largely because I talk about this play a lot, and it reeks of pepperjack cheese to me, but I think the male to female ratio in the cast was more even, and since I know it well I can at least give some substance to the Marquis bitching. Admit it, though; it's totally a safe choice.)

The Marquis de Sade, at your service. And I am not offended, Monsieur.

The Marquis de...?

Ah.

To think that the Pavi would ever meet such a...great inspiration. I think this is maybe not such a bad place, after all.

You are a libertine, Monsieur?

In every way imaginable, signor; your literature was a great teacher to me in my youth. But I must introduce myself, as I am after your own time - Paviche Largo, most assuredly at your service.

Always a pleasure to hear that my writings have been well received.

Possibly not to hear that they've been used as manuals, though. :c

I will hope to meet you face-to-face in the near future, signor, perhaps when my own face is a little more...presentable.

As to the business of your journal? This 'Streetcar' is not familiar to me, but I have spent much time performing in l'opera. If it is help behind the scenes that you will need, signor, the Pavi can sew quite well.

The Marquis has no idea what kind of person he is yet.

There is something wrong with your face, Monsieur?

And I would welcome your contributions if the latter is true. I have set aside a copy of the play and some reference books in the library for members of the crew to use. You are welcome to peruse them and see if the project strikes your fancy.

It's probably for the best.

My face is....the situation is complicated, si? For now, suffice to say that all this did not happen with the best timing.

I shall be sure to visit the library soon. I would very much like something to keep me occupied while I consider this new situation.

The Pavi won't like him so much once he does know.

I understand.

When you've settled then, we should meet. Enjoy a little wine and conversation.

Sad face. :(

Thank you, signor. I will look forward to it.
