My...I feel accomplished this evening.

General disagreement or lovers' quarrel, gentlemen?

[identity profile] impure-tale.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure.

No, no. For once, I've got to agree with the Master on this one.

General disagreement. Very definitely.

You need not have said a word, Doctor; you know this isn't really about you in the slightest.

[identity profile] doctorate.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm aware, but somehow I find it difficult to distance myself from the text.

[identity profile] impure-tale.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid that's more your problem than it is mine.

[identity profile] doctorate.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
Suppose it is.

I take it you're pleased with the reception of your work, then?

[identity profile] impure-tale.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
As with the first time this happened, it was not my intention that everyone have a chance to read it. I might have slipped a copy under the Master's door eventually, but it is the Admiral's doing that everyone got one, not mine.

Bearing that in mind and ignoring all other responses, it has served its purpose.

[identity profile] doctorate.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
Taking a jab at the Master, you mean?

[identity profile] impure-tale.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
As I said to him (and as he said to me) -- Words are my only weapon.

Is it my fault that he is so susceptible to them?

[identity profile] doctorate.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
You two really need to sit down over tea and talk out your problems.

[identity profile] impure-tale.livejournal.com 2008-09-04 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
Problems? Doctor, I don't have any problems with him. I just find his mewling tantrums amusing, and would be pleasantly surprised if, for once, his sac dropped far enough for him to walk away from coarse words rather than whine and belt threats over it.

No problems? I've heard stories about your attempts to tear off his ear. Sounds a bit personal to me.

I will admit that I was rather -- swayed that night in Venice. And had I been any more angry, I would have done a lot more to him; I guarantee you that. The fact that he was afraid was enough.

And I'll do worse if he harms Romana again.

It's obvious he's taken your-- writing a bit personally. It's possible that he might take extremes in exacting revenge, you know.

And this is a warning, of course. I'll do my best to prevent it, but there's only so much the Wardens can do.

Much as I appreciate your concern, Doctor, what makes you think I don't expect him to exact revenge?

I don't think you're considering the fact that he won't actually take out his frustrations on you.

He'll learn to or it won't stop.

Be prepared to wait a while with that lesson, in that case. It'd be a new trick for him.
