To those of you who have expressed an interest, you will be pleased to know that I think I have finally selected a play. It was not one directly recommended, but at the behest of a few people I delved more into the writings of one particular writer and decided that I should like to try one. The play that I have selected, having liked the material and with an understanding that there will be mostly equal roles for male and female actors, is "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams.

Having read the play and stage directions and made notes, however, I realize that though the stage is of a decent size, along with actors and actresses, I am also going to need others: Set designers and builders will be required -- not to mention the materials for them to use. I will also need the aid of anyone who can sew clothing -- who will also likewise require access to such things.

Lighting, effects, musicians -- the latter is important. There are not many places in the play that music is outright required, but one or two people with some grasp of an instrument would be helpful.

I, of course, intend to direct.

(ooc: I feel like a right idiot for picking the play that I did -- largely because I talk about this play a lot, and it reeks of pepperjack cheese to me, but I think the male to female ratio in the cast was more even, and since I know it well I can at least give some substance to the Marquis bitching. Admit it, though; it's totally a safe choice.)
